Commercial Tags, Office Signs and Name Badges
These are made from 2 or 3 ply plastic laminate sheets for many different industries or hobbies. Typically, they are used to warn, identify, inform or instruct direction. Applications include electrical panels, decals, machinery control panels, valve tags, warning signs, stencils, location markers, seat or locker numbers, button and switch identification, schedule boards and schematic diagrams. They can be used indoor or outdoor (UV stable), are lightweight, strong, affordable and available in many sizes, quantities and colours.

These are specially designed coins or medallions bearing an organisation's insignia and given to someone to confirm membership of the group.
Why Are They Called Challenge Coins?
The tradition of a challenge is to ensure members are carrying their coin. The act of a challenge is called a 'coin check' and can be done anytime and is usually announced loudly. Failure to produce the coin means a forfeit which usually entails buying the challenger a drink. However, if the coin is produced then the challenger has to buy the drinks. Rules for challenging are not always formalised.
